
Paul Robinson
Biography
Dr. Paul Robinson is the Executive Director of RISE, a new nonprofit organization formed as part of the Commonwealth’s application for the National Disaster Resilience Competition. The goal of the organization is to encourage private sector innovation in response to sea level rise by facilitating collaboration between businesses and local governments.
Robinson also serves as Senior Advisor of the Government and Aerospace sectors at Focus Investment Banking, where he specializes in energy Production & Distribution, Government, Aerospace & Defense, Healthcare and Life Sciences, Information Technology, among others.
An innovator and community leader, Robinson also serves as the President and CEO, AeroTech Research, and is the Chairman and CEO of TDAS, the commercialization entity for AeroTech’s Turbulence Detection and Avoidance Systems. TDAS provides licensing and engineering support for all systems, operations and maintenance products. Prior to this, Robinson served as Principal Engineer, Lockheed Martin Aeronautics/NASA, and was also the Chairman of the US Foundation for ISU.
Robinson holds eight patents for his innovations, including the wake vortex detection and reporting system; transmission, receipt, combination, sorting, reporting and presentation of vehicle specific environmental conditions and hazards information utilizing a ground station; and thermal anemometer aircraft airspeed gust component transducer, among others. Robinson also won a National Disaster Resilience Competition grant for his initiative, RISE.
